Maserati GranCabrio to Debut in Sydney on 3 February 2010

31/12/2009 - Sydney
The Maserati GranCabrio will make its Australian debut in Sydney on 3 February 2010 to celebrate the opening of Ferrari Maserati Sydney, Australia’s newest dealer for the legendary Italian car maker.

Nearing completion at the junction of Bourke and Elizabeth Streets in Waterloo, Ferrari Maserati Sydney will set a new standard for car dealerships in Australia, from its stunning architecture to its advanced workshops and new levels of customer service. The Maserati GranCabrio, already acclaimed as setting a new benchmark for luxurious performance motoring, will be the automotive guest of honour for the official opening, prior to deliveries starting in the middle of 2010.

“Our standard for Maserati in Sydney is quite simple – to build a car dealership that can stand comparison with any car dealership in the world,” explains Edward Butler, General Manager for Maserati in Australia and New Zealand. “Therefore no expense has been spared to ensure that Maserati customers will be able to enjoy a facility that exceeds expectations in every area and which provides a unique experience. We are honoured that Maserati are dispatching their newest model, a car yet to be seen outside the confines of two motor shows, to be our guest of honour at the official opening on 3 February at what I am sure will be an evening to remember!”

Editor’s notes:

Ferrari Maserati Sydney is part of a five level complex at the junction of Bourke and Elizabeth Streets in Waterloo, that as well as Maserati in Sydney will also be home of Ferrari in Sydney and, on the top level, the offices of the Ateco Group of companies, including EAI, the Australian and New Zealand importer of Maserati and Ferrari.

The Maserati GranCabrio made its world debut on 15 September 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, providing Maserati with its third model alongside the Quattroporte and GranTurismo. The GranCabrio follows in the footsteps of a long line of classic open Maserati sports cars that combined performance and style with the pleasure of open top motoring, but also provides the Italian supercar maker with its first full four seater open top car. Powered by a 4.7 litre 323 kW V8 engine, performance is truly to the Maserati standard.
