Maserati looks forward to growth in Australia and New Zealand

Maserati has used the launch of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport in Australia and New Zealand to confirm its ambitious growth plans in the local markets, building on the foundations laid by the importer, European Automotive Imports (EAI) over the past seven years.

Speaking at the media launch held at Philip Island, near Melbourne, Gaetano Marino, Maserati Asia Pacific Regional Director said "Maserati's position in Australia and New Zealand has been transformed over the past seven years with EAI lifting customer service to new levels of excellence, growing sales and developing the brand's awareness and public perception to previously unseen levels. This provides the ideal foundation to launch Maserati's new models over the next few years and we look forward to working hand in hand with EAI to fully reap the benefits of these new models in Australia and New Zealand."

Maserati announced at the Paris International Motor Show last month that the Maserati Quattroporte, GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be joined by two new models, an E-segment sedan called the Ghilbi and a performance luxury SUV, dubbed the Levante, and these cars, along with new variants of the existing range, will see Maserati sales worldwide rise to 50,000 units by 2015, with Australia and New Zealand's share of that figure being 1500 cars per annum by 2015.

“European Automotive Imports has shown superb levels of confidence in Maserati and determination to set world standards in Australia and New Zealand," says Mr Marino.  "It is now our turn to repay that vote of confidence and we will be working closely with EAI for the launches of all these new vehicles.”

More than a media event, the GranTurismo Sport launch at Philip Island saw EAI for the first time organise a regional customer launch for the new car on behalf of Maserati, further demonstrating the value of its relationship with EAI.  Clients from across South East Asia jetted into Melbourne to sample Maserati's newest product joining those from Australia and New Zealand for five days of launch programmes in the Victorian capital and at the Philip Island Track. Clients tested cars under the guidance of Maserati's vehicle test drivers on the track as well as on some of Victoria's best driving roads.
